WALKING THE FLOOR PODCAST INTERVIEW WITH STURGILL SIMPSON
PARTNERSHIP WITH FLOYD’S 99 BARBERSHOP
Chris Shiflett, front man for Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants and guitarist for Foo Fighters, has released the newest episode of his Walking The Floor podcast, which features critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Sturgill Simpson. The interview is the latest installment in Shiflett’s in-depth series that features artist-to artist discussions with musicians, directors, authors, athletes and more, and can be streamed via Soundcloud or downloaded via iTunes.
Floyd’s 99 Barbershop – The Original Rock ‘N Roll Barbershop® – has partnered with Shiflett as presenting sponsor of Walking The Floor, promoting the podcasts across the company’s network of barbershops and accompanying platforms. Additionally, the Floyd’s 99 Barberbus, a mobile barbershop, will travel to upcoming Foo Fighters concerts at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Detroit, MI on August 24th and at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on August 29th, where Floyd’s 99 staff will be cutting hair to raise money for Music Cares. Shiflett will be signing Walking The Floor posters for fans at each site – as he did at the Foo Fighters Fenway Park concert on July 18th, where he also interviewed Dickey Barrett (of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones) on the Barberbus and cut a lucky fan’s hair in front of a fan audience.
Since launching in late 2013, Walking The Floor has presented captivating conversations between Shiflett and fellow artists, including Grammy award-winning country superstar Brad Paisley; renowned classic country singers and musicians like Red Simpson, Redd Volkaert and Tommy Hays; contemporary country/Americana artists Dwight Yoakam, Steve Earle, and Robbie Fulks; author Thomas Frank; pro-surfer Connor Coffin; photographer/director/talk show host Sam Jones; boxing trainer Robert Garcia; and rockers spanning three decades, including John Doe (X), Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio), Jonny “Two Bags” Wickersham (Social Distortion), and Nicholaus Arson (The Hives), among others. Upcoming podcasts will include interviews with Patterson Hood (Drive-By Truckers), Brian Setzer, Dickey Barrett, and Mike Ness (Social Distortion), and others.
