AUGUST TOUR DATES

August 18, 2016 – Philadelphia, PA’s Suburban Living have signed to 6131 Records and will release their sophomore album Almost Paradise on October 7, 2016. An early preview of the album, “Come True,” debuted online today via Impose Magazine, which wrote that the song feels like “…falling into a dream, riddled with white noise and ethereal vocals.” The song can also now be streamed and shared via Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/6131ecords/suburban-living-come-true.

Recorded by Jeff Zeigler (The War On Drugs, Kurt Vile, Nothing), Almost Paradise is a bold and sweeping album that expands upon the bedroom dreampop of Suburban Living’s 2015 eponymous debut. Whereas the band began as a solo project of singer/guitarist Wesley Bunch – with him writing, playing, and recording everything on his own – it now includes Michael Cammarata (drums), Peter Pantina (bass), and Chris Radwanski (guitar) in collaboration to fill out the sound. The album was written across 2015, a year after Bunch moved to Philadelphia from Virginia Beach, VA and found himself working through both a heartbreak and the sense of disjointedness that comes with relocation. The resultant Almost Paradise is a coming-of-age breakup album that looks at the loss of love and friends, and the unmoored feeling that comes with change and finding a new sense of home.

Bunch by chance met engineer Zeigler, who shared his vision to create a darker, noisier, and unexpected album than Suburban Living’s previous LP, EP, and 7-inch. While each song is distinct and varied, the atmospheric Almost Paradise feels full-bodied and cohesive, from the hypnotic rise and fall of “Come True” to the epic wall-of-sound of “Two Years;” from the dramatic sweep of “Lovely Times” to the chiming swell of “Lies & Demands.” A full track listing and cover artwork are below.

Suburban Living head out on a week-long tour of the east coast beginning this Saturday, August 20th in Brooklyn, NY. The tour will take the band down to Norfolk, VA, where it will wrap up on August 28th. Suburban Living will also play a hometown album release show for Almost Paradise on October 8th at The Foundry.
